Show Cell
To view text contained in a cell of the file list which is not shown completely:
a. use the up/down/left/right keys to select the cell (selection shown in green).
b. choose Show Cell from the Show menu.
Show cell will always display text from a single cell in a pop up window.
The title of the pop up window will contain the column title for the cell displayed and path / file name from the row for the cell data.
When you press the Esc key you will always be returned to the Kyboma file list window from which the text on the pop-up screen was displayed.
All Other menus and keys (if available) will apply to the current file list window. This may be different to the file list window from which the text on the pop-up screen was displayed.
E.g. After you
a. display a file/cell from FileListA
b. select FileListB from the Windows menu
c. select the Show File/Cell window from the Windows menu.
Then any menu or key will apply to the FileListB even though the current window is data from FileListA.
I.e. If you now press 4 to select a filetype and then F5 to refresh the file list.
Then FileListB will be refreshed with the new filetype.
Note that there is only ever one pop up window for Show Cell and one pop up window for Show Text.
Each of these pop up windows can contain data from any file list window.
If you issue a command to show text or cell data, the previous contents of the pop up window will be replaced.
Press Esc to return to the Kyboma file list window from which the text on the pop-up screen was displayed.
The pop up window will be positioned so that all of it can be seen and so that it does not hide/cover the cell being displayed (if possible). Kyboma will try to position the pop up window a. below then b. to the right then c. to the left then d. above the cell. If none of these fit, the pop up window will be placed in the bottom left hand corner of the Kyboma main window.
If option "Popup Text - Resize ..." is checked on Options/Show Text Popup, then the pop up window will be re-sized every time a new show command is issued.
This option also available from the Edit/Quick Options menu.
If the file list window is maximised and a show command is selected that requires a pop up window then:
If Option "Popup even when maximised ..." is checked on Options/Popups - Show Text ..., the maximised file list window will be changed to fill the screen before the pop up is displayed.
If the option is not checked, the text will be displayed in a maximised window. Esc key can still be used to return to the window where the show command was issued.
The default size for the pop up window can be defined by using "Set Std Size ..." from Options/Popups - Show Text ....
Show Unformatted Text
Show Bytes/Info for text
Use this option to show details for the file displayed.
If the Show Info command is issued from a file list window, it will show info about the file displayed in the text section of that file list window.
If the Show Info command is issued from the show text pop up window, it will show info about the file displayed in the pop up window.
Info displayed is:
The full path and file name of the file.
The total number of bytes contained in the file.
The title of the file when available.
Title is the HTML title/Contents meta tag/First part of body if the file is HTML with one of these elements present.
Otherwise title will be set to Show Raw Text from + path and filename.
Additionally the Byte numbers of the (part of the) text displayed and the (part of the) text selected (if any) can be shown.
Bytes selected shows the total number of bytes selected in brackets.
The first byte of the file is described as byte 1.
Click on Bytes to show the Byte info and click it again to hide this info. The last setting of show/hide bytes will be remembered and used next time.

After a value is found, other criteria are checked.
If all other criteria are OK the file is listed and Kyboma continues to search for the next file.
If a found value is rejected because of one of the other criteria, Kyboma will continue to search that file.
A found value will be REJECTED if it is part of ANY of the "ExclUde values".
Values to exclude should always contain one of the values to find. If not, they will be ignored. I.e. Find lon, exclude long is correct. Find lon, exclude man is not correct (and the exclude criteria will be ignored).
If Only find when Line starts is specified, a found value will only be ACCEPTED when the line on which it is found starts with ANY of the list of values. If Only on same Line is also specified, this criteria must ALSO be satisfied. But only ONE of the list of values needs to be on the same line as the value found.
Similarly Only on same Line and Only Within Range.

| Show Find File Info For Current List |
Show Find File Info For Current List
This option will show the Search Criteria used to create the list as well as a list of rejections if they were saved.
This option will only be available if the list was created with F4. It will not show changes to the search criteria made to search in the current list after the list was created.
It is therefore always possible to see what criteria was used to create the list.
When using complex criteria with several parts, it is sometimes difficult to understand why nothing is found.
It is helpful in determining how the criteria should be changed to see each found value that is rejected due to the complex criteria. Kyboma can keep a list of these rejected values as well as the part of the complex criteria that caused them to be rejected.
When a search is done Kyboma will always keep a list of rejections for the last processed file. To keep a list for all files select Options from the Enter Find Criteria screen and check "Save Detail ...".
If the search is being done on a directory/drive to make a list, a progress box will appear on top of the file list showing the number of files processed and the number found/listed. Press the "Show Detail" button on this box to show the list of rejections as the list is being created.
After the detail is shown a list of rejections will be kept for the current and all subsequent files read.
Note rejections are added as they are found at the TOP of the list. The path and filename of the file will always appear UNDER a list of rejections for that file.
If "Save Detail" is checked, the search criteria is also shown at the end of the list of rejections, .
Use "Show Find File Info ... " on the Show menu to display the rejections that were saved for the current file list.
Note that when F4 is pressed again to search in the current list, the rejections will be added at the top of the list of rejections if "Save Detail .." was checked. If "Save Detail ..." was not checked, only rejections for the last file will be kept.
