| KybIE as a web accelerator for Internet Explorer - KybIE FAQ |
Most web accelerator tools work by keeping a cached copy of pages that you visit frequently on your hard disk. When you revisit the page or other pages using the same image or embedded HTML, the web accelerator will read the copy on your hard disk and will not need to fetch the page again. In this respect Kybie works in the same way as other web accelerators.
KybIE offers advantages in the way files are stored. Other web accelerators and internet explorer use an internal unreadable cache format.
KybIE will save GIF or JPEG images as GIF or JPEG files and the filename will be derived from the URL. Internet explorer sometimes makes assumptions about a file based on its name. KybIE will always change the name so that internet explorer displays it correctly as either a web page or picture.
The pages are fetched in the background and once you view them from the green list *all* the pages are on your hard disk, we believe KybIE is by far the best web accelerator available.
